Refreshing Our Best Selling Necklaces
Bringing Back Our Best Selling Handmade Necklaces
Symbolic Gem Necklace
The Symbolic Gem Necklace was first created in 2011 during a moment when I was feeling off and disconnected. None of my usual resets were helping, not yoga, not running, not reading, not time with friends, not even a cocktail. Sitting in front of hundreds of gemstones, I began pulling stones that simply felt right in my hand.
I arranged and rearranged them many times until the combination and order felt complete. Once I finished the necklace and put it on, I felt an almost immediate shift. That piece became something I wore for more than five years, and it went on to become my best selling necklace.
I continued making the Symbolic Gem Necklace until 2020. Each one used the same core gemstone story, but because the stones naturally varied in shape and color, every necklace felt one of a kind. That handmade quality is one of the things I have always loved most about it.
Bringing this necklace back felt especially meaningful. I recreated it in much the same way I did the first time, by laying out many gemstones and moving them around for hours until the design felt right. This time, I made a few changes to the stones to reflect what feels right to me in this moment. The result is a refreshed version of one of the most meaningful pieces I have ever designed.
If you have loved this necklace before, or if you are discovering it for the first time, I hope you connect with this handmade symbolic gemstone necklace as deeply as I always have.
Tourmaline Duo Necklace
I have always loved layering jewelry. Since I was young, I wore multiple necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings whenever I could. That love of layering naturally became part of my jewelry design process, and many of my early handmade necklaces were inspired by the idea of creating an effortless layered look.
The Tourmaline Duo Necklace was originally designed in the summer of 2007. I wanted to create a handmade tourmaline necklace that could give the look of two necklaces in one piece, something easy enough for everyday wear but still special and unique. The original design featured 6mm heart-shaped tourmalines paired with a delicate open link chain on the top layer.
What made this necklace so special was that I could create the same overall design again and again, while still making each piece feel unique through the arrangement of the stones. Tourmaline comes in so many beautiful colors and shades, which made every necklace slightly different and gave it that one-of-a-kind quality I love in handmade gemstone jewelry.
I decided to bring the Tourmaline Duo Necklace back because I still love its versatility, its color story, and the way it falls so naturally at the neckline. In this updated version, I used a slightly larger link chain and 10mm round tourmalines. I actually bought these stones last fall and held onto them for months, waiting for the right design to showcase them. What I realized was that I had already created the perfect design years ago.
This new version of the Tourmaline Duo Necklace keeps the spirit of the original while giving it a refreshed, slightly bolder look. It is still a layering necklace, still easy to wear, and still one of those pieces that can quickly become part of your everyday jewelry collection.
Dream Catcher Star Venus Gem Necklace
The original Dream Catcher Star Necklace was designed in 2013, shortly after I moved to Los Angeles. It quickly became a best seller and became one of my own everyday favorites. I wore it layered with the Symbolic Gem Necklace for years, and it became one of those pieces that felt both easy and special at the same time.
In 2016, I decided to reinterpret that original design and give it more of a statement feel, which led to the Dream Catcher Star Venus Necklace. This version brought a fresh energy to the dream catcher necklace design while keeping the celestial, symbolic quality that made the original so loved.
When I first released it, it was only available in white opal and then later in Peruvian blue opal. It was such a fun piece, and one that really stood out while still feeling wearable. This spring, I decided it was the perfect time to bring it back again, this time with a wider range of gemstone colors.
The Dream Catcher Star Venus Necklace is one of those handmade necklaces that works beautifully as part of a layered look, but it also holds its own as a standout piece. It has that balance I am always searching for in my jewelry: something versatile, meaningful, and easy to wear, while still feeling artistic and unique.
If you love celestial jewelry, dream catcher necklaces, and handmade gemstone designs that can be styled in different ways, this piece is such a fun one to make your own. With so many gemstone colors to choose from, it is easy to find the version that feels right for your style this season.
